Justice with Grace will meet this Sunday, June 29, following our worship service at 12:00 noon. We will be meeting with a small group from Iglesia del Pacto, our Spanish speaking sister congregation. We want to begin developing a relationship with them to explore ways of addressing local issues of justice together, and to also discern if small groups from each of our congregations would like to take part in a process called Invitation to Racial Righteousness later this fall. Grace provides a daily devotional called the Home Altar. It is produced quarterly by the Covenant. Copies of the new devotional for July – Sept. are available in the literature rack.

Youth Group: Come celebrate Canada Day, July 1 @ Pastor Ryan’s place (5459 N Spaulding Ave-off Catalpa) from 7-9 pm. Wear red and white and we’ll do a lot of Canadian things – like drink venison slurpies and race dog sleds (or maybe not)- but whatever it is, it will be cool.

Leonid and Leanna Regheta, missionaries to Russia, will be speaking next Sunday, June 29. The Missions Committee will be hosting a light luncheon after the service at the NLMH for those wishing to speak further with the Reghetas. Space is limited, so please sign up on Sunday with Stephanie Goldvarg.

Join us for a time of prayer before the service at 9am in the Nina Larson Ministry House. This prayer focus will continue through the summer. Each week we will engage in a different focus or style of prayer. We hope you can join us.

This Sunday Grace starts its summer Sunday School series on the Fruit of the Spirit. This class is for kids in 5th grade through age 4. Kids should exit with their parents downstairs. 3 year olds will need a teen helper to sit with them during the class. Some will be available this Sunday, but parents should see Pastor Ryan or Mark Washington to have one assigned long-term. Kids age 2 and younger will need to stay with their parents in the service or nursery. We still have needs for volunteers during the summer. A sign up sheet is downstairs on a bulletin board in the hallway or contact Pastor Ryan.

This Tuesday is the youth and family bar-b-que at the Green space at North Park University. The grill starts at 6:30pm, come when you can. Meat and buns will be provided. Please bring the following by last name. A-G: Chips/side dish, H-M: drinks, N-Z: dessert. RSVP with numbers coming to Jesse, 616-485-1513, or Pastor Ryan, 815-298-0853, are appreciated. In case of rain, it will be held at Grace. We will let you know on Monday if things look bad and we are moving it.

A spiritual storytelling group for those over 50. New members are welcome! Come share with others your life stories and how God has been present in your life journey. Our next meeting will be Thursday, June 19, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon in the Nina Larson Ministry House across from the church building. (4159 N. Monticello Ave.) We will continue to meet every third Thursday of the month through November. If you are interested, contact Renee Roeschley for more details at 773-283-4273.

This Sunday, during the Growing with Grace class we will share stories of God’s work in our midst and ask how worship changes us. Join us at 9am in the Nina Larson Ministry House.
