The missions team will be hosting a lunch following worship for continuing conversation with the Peterson’s in the Nina Larson Ministry House, 4159 N. Monticello, located directly south of the church. Please join us! No RSVP required.

The I2RR weekend of 2009 led to 3 groups: Food Distribution, Joint Grace/Iglesia Events, and Immigration. 4S Retreat

Array

4S.2010 Retreat do what?! (attempting faithfulness)

Who: Jr. and Sr. High Youth

Details:
Starts with dinner on July 27 at 7pm at Grace Covenant Church.
Ends after dinner on July 30 at 8pm at Grace Covenant Church.

We will:
Slow down by being together for 70+ hours. We will stay at the church and do events around the region: some will be fun, some will be active, others will be service projects, times of silence, big games, or worship. We will focus on God, each other and the event we are doing.
Be still as we have times of silence and worship in reflecting on God. You will be asked to be quiet at times and give up things when we’re together.
Serve others as we have several opportunities to do service projects around the city.
Be surprised at some of the things we do and the way God speaks to us.

Due dates: Return your registration form with payment (if applicable) by July 1. (There may be a limited number of spaces after this date, but due to transportation we need to have a number by July 1).

Cost: $50 for entire event. If you cannot afford this, please pay as much as you are able. Scholarships are available.

Go Moxies!

All are welcome for a picnic and softball practice after church on Sunday, June 6th at 12pm. Whether you’re “officially” on the team or not, come for some fellowship and fun exercise. You don’t even have to practice, just come enjoy the fellowship. Bring a bag lunch or buy something on the way as we take a stroll to Independence Park together for the first practice of the season. Questions, contact Amy Washington.

Celebrate Graduates…

Join us on Sunday, June 13th as we celebrate the milestones of graduation from High School, College and Graduate School.

Join the Fast

Prayer

Fasting makes us hungry, true enough, but you can’t beat it for focusing our attention on God. From now through June, we’d like to ask you to fast on Fridays for the future of Grace, in one way or another. Some may take only water for twenty-four hours. Some may just skip lunch. If you can’t fast from food (for health or other reasons),you may give something else up on Fridays, like TV, music, news, driving, or going out in the evening. Fasting can be like silence for our spiritual ears.

Joining the fast? Let the pastors know so we can pray for YOU during this time.

Hear something from God about Grace’s future? Please pass it along to the Council by emailing a note to future{at}gracechurchchicago{dot}org. (If you don’t do email, you can send a note to the church office.)
